Taking a class on-line where you will be expected to work on your own requires motivation, personal discipline and task and time management to succeed. To help you decide whether you are a candidate for distance education, take this self-assessment at http://www.stlcc.edu/distance/assessment/
or this one at http://www.pbs.org/als/college/dlandyou/quiz.htm

I have not used computers very much. How do I know I have the computer skills to do my course work?

We believe that basic skills like using a computer, word processing, accessing the Internet and using an email program are essential for student success. Click on the link below to see if you have these skills.
Please let your instructor know if you need assistance with these basic skills. Help may be available in the campus student labs, learning achievement centers orƯ through on-line tutorials.
