QUALITY TECHNOLOGY

AT ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY COLLEGE

What is Quality Technology?

In today's world, quality competition is a fact of life. Many companies are stressing the need for a work force competent in practices and principles of Total Quality Management (TQM). The Quality Control Technology program prepares students for the changing dynamics of the field. Degrees and certificates in quality control technology allow students to waive some of the on-the-job work experience time required for certification as a quality technician.

About our program..

Quality Technology leads to an associate in applied science degree. Graduates are prepared for employment in entry-level positions as Quality Technicians. Some may choose to continue in a bachelor's degree program in quality control technology at a four-year institution. Transfer of credits from St. Louis Community College should be resolved by the student and the transfer institution.

The program emphasizes the development of basic technical competency in the subject areas of quality concepts and techniques, quality cost analysis, reliability, inspection and testing, and statistical quality control. Courses are taught in well-equipped lab facilities utilizing up-to-date equipment.

An advisory committee of professionals in the quality field works with St. Louis Community College to ensure that the curriculum is current with employment requirements and technical advances in the field.

The program is offered in the evening to accommodate work schedules and students already employed in the field. The program can be completed in four years by following the evening schedule.
