Architecture
The St. Louis Community College at Meramec Architectural Technology Program firmly believes that the built environment is an expression of our practical societal needs as well as the backdrop for complex patterns of human interaction. It is essential that those seeking a career in the environmental arts be both skilled at the mechanics and technology of building as well as sensitive to the aesthics and quality of the spaces being created.
The Architectural Technology program of SLCC at Meramec affords our students opportunities to begin a career in one of the diverse disciplines associated with architecture. The curriculum prepares the student for employment upon graduation in the Architecture or Construction Design related professions and provides the first two years of college for those seeking a degree from an accredited professional program and eventual professional licensure. Our graduating students find employment in architectural firms as designers, draftspersons, CADD specialists, illustrators and building specialists. In addition to the architectural profession, employment opportunities abound in related careers such as construction management, engineering, landscape architecture, interior design and product support.
The Architectural Technology program has diverse course offerings in technical and professional application as well as design and theory. Meramec provides you with state-of-the-art facilities in which to learn and the learning tools to complement the superb teaching of the Meramec art faculty.
