Painting

In Meramec's painting classes, students are introduced to the principles of composition, color and expression through the various media of paints. Painting I explores the art of oil painting from still-life objects, with emphasis on techniques and the effective use of color. Composition and drawing are particularly stressed as they relate to painting.

As students become more adept at handling the painting media, they can continue their studies through Painting II. Painting II furthers the education in composition and color use, and develops the foundation for future individual study.
