"Using Models to Calculate Volumes
in Calculus"
Build models of solids whose
volumes are usually calculated using the methods of uniform slices, discs, or
cylindrical shells. The modeling process reinforces the concept of Riemann Sums
and gives a solid foundation for the integration formulas.
