Update for Students, COVID-19 March 12, 2020 |
St. Louis Community College places the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff as a priority, and we have been monitoring potential exposure issues related to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the St. Louis area. |
At this time, local public health authorities are not currently recommending school or work closures in the region. Our efforts at STLCC are focused on planning, prevention and communication. |
The World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 to be a pandemic. To allay your concerns, we want to give current information that applies to STLCC:

• |
At this time, the College has not canceled classes for the remaining spring 2020 semester. Because this is an evolving situation, please continue to monitor the College’s COVID-19 information page, social media platforms – Facebook and Twitter – and your student email account. Any changes we make will be communicated through those platforms.
• |
We are focused on ensuring learning outcomes for all students. If the College cancels in-person classes, they could be held online through Blackboard. Please understand that we will provide details about concerns such as coursework, grades, adjusted curriculum, technology, make-up opportunities and more.
• |
Student events and trips are being evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Notifications will be made using email, Facebook and Twitter. If you have questions about a specific event, please contact your campus vice president of student affairs. |
• |
As we approach spring break, we know some of you will travel. We encourage you to use healthy precautions and follow CDC travel guidelines. We will follow CDC’s guidance and notifications related to how travel might impact students and staff returning to work and school. |
• |
You will not be penalized for missing classes if you are ill. If you are sick, please contact your professors to keep them informed. |
STLCC is doing everything we can to mitigate risk and to allay your concerns as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. |
Again, the College’s top priority is the health and safety of our school community. We will provide timely updates and information as we can. |
Thank you for your help and support as we keep our community healthy. |
