The plaque above the church door reads:
Historic Presbyterian Church In continuous use since 1872. Moved from North Grand Tower to this site in 1896. It's gothic architecture is primarily of solid walnut. A civil war vertern was the first minister.
(The typo is on the plaque so I left it uncorrected.)
Grand Tower has a public library.
The tow Cheryl Stegbauer passing in front of Tower Rock.
The city Municipal Building.
A typical home in Grand Tower.
It's an old river town and it's full of old boats.
A typical city street in Grand Tower.
There is a huge rock sitting on a street corner in Grand Tower. If you stop to examine it you'll see this plaque: Mrs. Melissa (Mom) Hale who, for more than 30 years from 1940 served more than a million and a half all-you-could-eat, home-cooked meals to all-comers on this site. Those of us who enjoyed her cooking afectionately dedicate this palque to her.
It must be wonderful to have a town mom.
A large percentage of the homes in Grand Tower are trailer homes like this one.
Memories, a railroad spur used to run between Grand Tower and the main line.
