Big Oak Tree State Park. This
1,000 acre Department of National
Resources state park is noted for
championship trees. Eighty acres
have been designated as a National
Natural Landmark, one of the few
virgin bottomland forests
remaining in the U.S.
Improvements include a 3,200 foot
long boardwalk through stands of
giant oaks and cypress swamp; an
Interpretive Center; fishing lake;
and picnic shelters. Water and
restroom facilities are available.
