Beouf River

Beouf River 1996

I grew up thinking this river was named after someone named Beth, because thats the way family members said it, "Bef" River. Beouf, also spelled BOEUFF, river rising in southeastern Arkansas, U.S., and flowing southwest between the Bartholomew and Mason bayous into Louisiana, entering the Ouachita River in Catahoula navigable. The name Boeuf is derived from the French word for ox, or steer.
