           Wellness & Fitness Concepts

Goals and Objectives:
1.  Develop a personalized wellness program.
2.  Understand how to implement the wellness components of exercise, nutrition and
     weight management.
3.  Recognize the danger of sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse and the lack
     of proper management of stress.

Attendance Policy:  attendance of regularly scheduled classes is not mandatory.  However, attendance will be taken and recorded.  Attendance at exams is mandatory.

Grading Policy:  Grades will be assigned as follows:

    Test #1                        200 points                                    A=900-1000 points
    Test #2                        200 points                                    B=800-  899 points
    Test #3 (take-home)    100 Points                                    C=700-  799 points
     Test #4 (final)              200 Points                                    D=600-   699 points
    writing assignments       200 points                                     F=    0-   599 points
    class assignments          200 points      
           Total                  1000 points

Note: According to St. Louis Community College policy, only the students can withdraw from a course.  The instructor cannot withdraw a student for excessive absence.  The instructor will award whatever grade is earned, affected negatively by absence from class.

Other:  Anyone with special needs to encouraged to see the instructor at his/her earliest convenience.
