lower half of the jar was in the excavation balk. Maximum body diameter = 30 cm, typical wall thickness = 6 mm.

This pottery vessel was found 2.34 meters south and 2.23 meters west of the SE corner of Square 83. The vessel was 67 cm below the surface.

Diameter = 32 cm and thickness ranges from 4.5 to 4.8 cm. Weight approimately 4.5 kilograms.
This artifact was found learning against a mudbrick wall (Locus 19). Our current working
hypothesis is that this was part of the potter's wheel for throwing the wine jars and other pottery vessels.
