Truman Road Site Ceramics (23SC924)

The Truman Road site is on private land and it is not open to the public. The site included a Middle Woodland cremation pit. Two radiocarbon dates from the Midde Woodland features are AD 90 +/-60 and AD 250 +/-70.


Pottery sherd with rocker decoration. Thickness = 6.6 mm and weight = 10.3 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94-3829.



Pottery sherd with decoration belonging to a category called Montezuma punctated. Thickness = 7.1 mm and weight = 12.7 grams. UMSL lab registration number 3827.



Pottery sherd with decoration belonging to a category called Montezuma punctated. Thickness = 12.4 mm and weight = 53.7 grams. UMSL lab registration number 3829.



Pottery sherd with "Havana Zoned" decoration; thickness = 7.1 mm and weight = 12.7 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94-3677.



Body sherd with "Hopewell Zoned" decoration found in the NW corner of feature 24 at the Truman Road site. Thickness = 4.4 mm and weight = 14.9 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - T23.



Rim sherd with cordmarking, plus punch-and-boss decoration found in the SE corner of feature 24 at the Truman Road site. Thickness = 9.4 mm and weight = 30.3 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3555.



Body sherd with "Hopewell Zoned" decoration found at the Truman Road site. Thickness = 5.5 mm and weight = 17.5 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3661.



Rim sherd with cordmarking, plus bunch-and-boss decoration; found in the North half of feature 24 at the Truman Road site. This sherd is considered Havana cordmarked. Thickness = 11.0 mm and weight = 153.0 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3539.



Rim sherd with dentate, bunch-and-boss, and rim stamped decoration found in the NW corner of feature 24 at the Truman Road site. Thickness = 9.1 mm and weight = 69.5 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - V47.



Rim sherd from the SE quarter of Feature 24 at the Truman Road site. Thickness = 10.9 mm and weight = 22.1 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3554.



Body sherd with stamped decoration from Feature 24 the Truman Road site. This is considered Hopewell zoned decoration. Thickness = 6.5 mm and weight = 30.7 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3528.



Rim sherd with dentate stamping and punch-boss decorationfrom the Truman Road site. This could be considered Hummel dectoration. Thickness = 8.7 mm and weight = 20.3 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3572.



Body sherd with dentate decoration from the Truman Road site. Thickness = 4.7 mm and weight = 7.3 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3955.



Body sherd with rocker decoration from the Truman Road site. This speciment is considered Havanna rocker decoration. Thickness = 10.8 mm and weight = 36.4 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3945.



Rim sherd with incised and bunch-and-boss decoration found in the SE quarter of Feature 24 at the Truman Road site. This specimen can be considered Hopewell zoned decoration. Thickness = 6.0 mm and weight = 14.0 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - V23.



Rim sherd with incised and stamped decoration found in the SE quarter of feature 24 at the Truman Road site. This is considered Naples stamped. Thickness = 8.0 mm and weight = 8.4 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 4022.



Rim sherd with incised and bunch-and-boss decoration found in East half of feature 24 at the Truman Road site. The specimen can be classified as Pike decoration. Thickness = 6.7 mm and weight = 25.6 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - T30.



Rim sherd with cordmarked and bunch-and-boss decoration found in NW quarter of Feature 24 at the Truman Road site. This sherd can be classified as Havana Cordmarked. Thickness = 8.8 mm and weight = 75.2 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3537.



Rim sherd with bunch-and-boss, and rim stamped decoration found in Southwest quarter of Feature 24 at the Truman Road site. This sherd can be classified as Havana Cordmarked. Thickness = 6.6 mm and weight = 51.6 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3573.



Rim sherd with decoration found in the Southwest quarter of Feature 24 at the Truman Road site. This sherd can be classified as Neteler Stamped. Thickness = 9.2 mm and weight = 43.1 grams. UMSL lab registration number 94 - 3688.
