Berry Site, 23PM59 The Berry Site (23PM59) is located in Pemiscot County in Southeast Missouri. Amateur archaeological fieldwork at the site has yielded a number of pottery vessels dating from the Late Mississippian Period (approximately AD 1350 to 1541); a sample of these are in the University of Missouri Museum of Anthropology. The digital images used in this webpage are based upon the artifact registration images of the Anthropology Museum. I have increased contrast, brightness and sharpened some of the images. A summary of research at the site, including many photographs, was published by O'Brien (1994:262-263). The cat monster vessel is currently (2013) on display in the St. Louis Art Museum gallery 113.
