Textile reg. no. 1929.484b - Fragments with pile. Undyed wool warp (4 to 5 threads per cm), undyed wool weft (16 and 21 threads per cm), and pile of undyed wool.



Textile reg. no. 1929.486b - Fragment with pile. Undyed wool warp (6 to 7 threads per cm), undyed wool weft (16 threads per cm), and undyed wool pile.



Textile reg. no. 1929.487 - Fragments with pile. Undyed wool warp (4 to 5 threads per cm), undyed wool weft (9 threads per cm), and wood pile dyed red, blue and tan.



Textile reg. no. 1929.493 - Three purple bands: 1.4 cm wide and .2 cm (2 mm) apart. Undyed wool (13 to 14 threads per cm), undyed wool weft (80 threads per cm), and purple wool (44 threads per cm). Plate XV.



Textile reg. no. 1929.496. - Mantle fragment from Tower 1 decorated with a tapestry design that measures 14.3 cm long and 7.2 cm wide; the end clefts are 3.7 to 3.8 cm. deep. Tan wool warp (11 to 13 threads per cm), tan wool weft (56 threads per cm) and red-purple dyed wool (68 threads per cm).



Textile reg. no. 1933.529 - Crep e Cloth; red wool warp (24 threads per cm) and red wool weft (20 threads per cm). The red dye was identified as madder o alumina.



Textile reg. no. 1933.5431 - Fragment of a multi-colored band. Undyed wool warp (8 to 9 threads per cm), and wool weft (32 to 35 threads per cm) including yellow, mixed browns, red and mauve. The red bands measure 5 to 6 mm wide.

Textile reg. no. 1935.554a - Undyed wool warp (14 threads per cm),and wool weft (36 threads per cm) including undyed wool, light purple and grey. The pattern formed an "X" made of give large rectangles (3.5 by 3.2 cm) connected corner to corner by four smaller ones (1.0 by 1.0 cm). The twill reverse every 5 to 15 warps in regularly strips. Textile reg. no. 1938.5419 - three decorative bands; undeyed wool warp (8 threads per cm), undyed wool weft (28 threads per cm) and mixed brown wool. Two bands measure 1.7 to 2.0 cm wide while the narrow band measures .7 cm. Plate XV.

 



Textile reg. no. 1938.5420 - undyed wool warp (7 threads per cm), undyed wool wf (approximately 20 threads per cm), and dyed brown wool weft (approximately 20 threads per cm). The brown bands measure 1.2 cm wide and .3 cm apart.



Textile reg. no. 1933.507c - Mantle with a plane angle band measuring 4.7 cm wide with arm lengths from 11.9 and 10.7 cm. The cleft ends measure 2.5 and 3.0 cm deep. Undyed wool warp (10 to 11 theads per cm), undyed wool (28 threads per cm), and brown-purple dyed wool (48 threads per cm). This artifact was found at Embankment L7.

Textile reg. no. 1938.5444 - garment with single band of purple decoration. Undyed wool warp (9 threads per cm), undyed weft (32 to 36 theads per cm) and dyed purple weft (48 threads per cm). Purple band measures 1.0 cm wide.



Textile reg. no. 1938.5460 - Mantle fragment with an angle band. One arm measures 16.0 cm long and 7.5 cm wide. The other band measures 7.7 cm by 5.5 cm wide. The preserved cleft extends to a depth of 3.5 cm. Undyed wool warp (8 to 11 threads per cm), undyed wool warp (11 to 10, undyeds wool and purple dyed wool weft (32 threads per cm).
