Kashirin House was the childhood home of Maxim Gorky and is preserved as a house museum in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia.
This is an example of the use of the private use of icons in a modest home.
I visited the Kashirin House museum on 9 June 2006 as part of a Fulbright Study project in Russia.
