The Lakenan Ridge Site (23SY01) is situated in the Salt River Drainage. John Saunders has a small collection of artifacts that he has collected from the surface of the site. The Lakenan site is located on private property and it is not open to the public.
Worn hematite celt. Length = 4.8 cm, width = 3.5 cm, thickness = 1.1 cm and weight = 51.5 grams.
Slight side-notched point. Length = 5.3 cm, width = 2.7 cm, thickness = 0.9 cm and weight = 11.4 grams.
Slight side-notched point. Length = 4.5 cm, width = 2.4 cm, thickness = 0.8 cm and weight = 9.0 grams.
Nebo Hill Point. Length = 12.5 cm, width = 2.9 cm, thickness = 13 mm and weight = 51.5 grams.
Corner-notched point resharpened into an end scraper. Length = 4.9 cm, width = 4.2 cm, thickness not recorded and weight = 17.5 grams.
Resharpened corner notched point. Length = 5.5 cm, width = 4.3 cm, thickness = 1.0 cm and weight = 18.9 grams.
Full grooved axe / maul manufactured from a weathered granite cobble. Length = 5.7 cm, width = 4.7 cm, thickness = 3.4 cm and weight = 132.4 grams.
Full grooved axe manufactured from hematite. Length = 8.9 cm, width = 8.3 cm, thickness = 3.1 cm and weight = 432.4 grams.
Heavily resharpened point. Length = 3.6 cm, width = 4.2 cm, thickness = 0.7 cm and weight = 11.6 grams.
Unifacial scraper. Length = 4.7 cm, width = 4.2 cm, thickness = 1.0 cm and weight = 20.5 grams.
