Archaeologists from the Oriental Institute (University of Chicago) excavated at Istakhr in Iran, an Islamic city about five miles north of Persepolis. Light green ware jug with single handle dating to the 10th century. Of the 1,050 coins excavated from four ten-meter squares in the center of the mound, 900 were Islamic coins (sixth to ninth centuries AD).
