^ Deruta lustre ware from Italty, ca. 1500 - 1525. A large maiolica (Italian, "Lustre ware") dish showing the figure of St. Francis receiving the stigmata. An almost identical example is in the Museo Civico, Pesaro [see Lustre Pottery by Alan Caiger-Smith (1985:Figure 88]. This specimen is in the collection of the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Canada.
