About

Dr. Long is an Associate Professor of English at St. Louis Community College—Meramec, where he teaches Composition, Creative Writing, Environmental Literature, Poetry Writing, Poetry and Plays, and Technical Writing. Amanda Keefe has written an article about him in the The Montage, the Meramec newspaper.

He is also editor and publisher of 2River, one of the oldest literary sites on the internet. Interviews with him concerning this project are located at Ephemera and Slip.

Samples of his poems are at Enskyment and Perihelion.

Dr. Long is a runner—most recently, on April 19, 2009, he completed the Go! St. Louis Marathon—and during the summer months he rides his bicycle, self-supported, throughout the country. He has biked, for example, across Missouri from St. Louis to Clinton and from Clinton to St. Louis; across Iowa from Missouri Valley to LeClaire, and from St. Louis to Durango, Colorado.
