Richard Long, M. A., Ed. D.AboutDr. Long is a Professor of English at St. Louis Community College—Meramec, where he teaches Composition, Creative Writing, Environmental Literature, Poetry Writing, Poetry and Plays, and Technical Writing. He is also the faculty advisor to Currents, the Meramec Literary Magazine. Amanda Keefe has written an article about him in the The Montage, the Meramec newspaper. Dr. Long also edits and publishes 2River, ranked by Web del Sol among the top 50 literary magazines in the country. From September to May, Dr. Long runs long distances. He is currently training for several Fall 2017 half marathons. During the summer months, Dr. Long rides his bicycle, self-supported, throughout the country. In 2013, for example, he biked around Lake Michigan; in 2014, around Lakes Erie and Ontario; in 2015 he cicrumnavigated the state of Arkansas; and in 2016 he biked throughout California(BuenCA BRide); and just this summer he biked from his from door to Sioux Falls, South Dakota; then east to Minneapolis, Minnesota; and from their south to his front door in University City.
