Phasing In: New Work From Home Guidelines, Phased Return to Campus
Can you believe we are approaching the mid-point of the fall semester? Time flies when you’re working hard and based on feedback and my discussions with faculty and staff, we are making proper adjustments to the new way of teaching and learning at St. Louis Community College! My thanks and congratulations to each of you for a job well done as we have worked through at least the initial phase of the pandemic we are all experiencing. |
Given the progress made to date, we have arrived at the point where it is time to provide details on a phased return to work and to also share guidelines for when employees are permitted to work from home going forward during the remainder of the pandemic. |
We are working to release guidelines for employees and supervisors very soon to assist supervisors in assessing which positions in their departments can be effective in working remotely during the pandemic going forward, and to assist as a planning tool as we continue our phased approached to returning employees to the campuses. The guidelines will assist supervisors and their employees in assessing expectations and requirements for productivity and scheduling. We plan to move to the next stage in our phased return to work on Nov. 2, 2020. |
By now, you should have completed the Employee Safe Return Guidelines training offered in SafeColleges. This training will assist you in understanding the safety and health protocols that the College has put in place. We are properly following city, county, state, and federal pandemic guidance. |
Please know that your health and safety come first, and I appreciate all of you for your hard work and service to the College. Because of this, College leadership and supervisors will take employee density and other factors into consideration when planning for employees working from the campuses.
The College’s leadership team, as well as the Employee and Student Engagement Team, will continue to monitor and evaluate our protocols. As always, we will adjust based on the state of the pandemic and the latest guidance from our region’s public health professionals.
