Work from Home Guidelines – Update, October 2020
As Dr. Jeff L. Pittman, chancellor, stated in his communication Oct. 12, we have been working on guidelines for supervisors and employees related to working from home. The attached guidelines are to be used for the purpose of supervisors and employees assessing the effectiveness of working from home and to help clarify working from home expectations. As you know, when the College made the decision that the majority of employees would be temporarily working from home starting March 23, 2020, we were operating under circumstances that provided little opportunity for careful planning. While many employees continued to work 100% or substantially on campus after March 23, many employees who had been working from home have been returning to campus since April.

We are now at a phase where we will begin to transition more employees back to on-campus work. The attached guidelines will assist managers and employees in determining which employees may need to return to on-campus work more quickly and what supports may be needed for employees who will continue to work at home, as determined by each department, as we transition through Phase II of returning to on-campus operations. The guidelines will also help in planning for future needs and contingencies related to working from home. |
As has been communicated, the College is in Phase II of returning to on-campus work. We are following all state and federal mandates and guidance for safe workplaces. The Work From Home Guidelines are a tool that will help to implement the staggered return to the campus worksites. Please make sure you have reviewed the Employee Safe Return guide, which can be found here
https://stlcc.edu/covid-19/stlcc-safe-return-plan.aspx.

Supervisors and employees will meet to review the guidelines together, discuss any concerns and sign off on the attached form. The form should be returned to HR at STLCC-HR@stlcc.edu by Nov. 20, 2020.
